Paloma Scott
Executive Director and General Manager of Unawatuna Beach Resorts (Pvt) Ltd and Director of Gourmet Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.
Born in London of Sri Lankan and Scottisch/English parents, Paloma graduated in 1981 with a BA honors degree in Textile Design from Camberwell Art School after a foundation course at The Central School of Art, both in London, and gained a Diploma in 1982 in art History from the University of Texas, Austin, USA. Determined to be a Gallerist and Archivist, Paloma spent 20 years in the art world, working for prominent art dealers, galleries and critics in Germany, New York and London, including Fischer Fine Art in London and the well know NY art critic Clement Greenberg. A chance meeting saw Paloma change her career and become an Estate Agent, working for Kinleigh Folkhard & Hayward (KFH), a major London Agency. She rose rapidly to become manager of one of KFH’s premier branches in Dulwich Village, South London, with an annual average turnover of £4 Million, where she personally brokered the sale and purchase of most of the significant properties in the area.
In the Autumn of 2012, Paloma decided to make another drastic career change and relocated to Sri Landka to join The Calamander Group, founded by her brother Roman, who had invested in Srik Lanka in Leisure and Hospitatlity. Paloma started as a Board Representative for Unawatuna Beach Resorts Private Ltd (UBRPL), working closely with the GM and resident in the beach hotel property. She has since risoen to become the GM and Executive Director or UBRPL, as well as sitting on the board of Gourmet Lanka, the Group’s Food Division.
