Calamander Capital is the Group's fund management unit and is regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore as an Exempt Fund Manager. Calamander Capital invests in companies in frontier markets in South and Southeast Asia where the Group has unique industry sector and country expertise. We do not follow the passive private equity model using debt. Our approach to private equity is to run private equity structures but function as a venture capital firm. That is, we build and improve existing businesses after buy-out. We take a major, and active, operational interest, not just a board seat. Our role is to support existing management, and focus on operational and process improvements that add economic value and the strategic repositioning of the businesses.

Calamander Capital has launched the world's first dedicated Sri Lanka Fund, a market in which the Group has been investing for over a decade. This Fund leverages the firms competencies in financial services and agri-business and processing.
