One of the Group's niches is the repositioning of historic, conservation buildings in, or on the fringes of, the central business districts (CBD). We refurbish these buildings to grade A office standards, whilst retaining the character and charm of the original building. Competition in this market is very low, and end user demand for a well designed product very strong, which provides the high returns the Group delivers. Demand for such offices is with smaller professional services firms: accountants, lawyers, boutique fund managers and financial advisors, advertising and media firms and search firms being our core market. The strategy requires deep conservation expertise in traditional masonry and timber buildings with traditional roofing; the ability to tailor-made conservation replica structures; and the ability to work well with planning authorities. We also work with residential conservation buildings.
